I really appreciate this because now people in DC are talking about whether we're going to get our own Zohran !!!! I wonder what other cities with hordes of tired-of-the-Dems young people will feel inspired as well, and what, if anything, will come of it
Yesss…finally we get a person who speaks directly to our needs! The fact that Cuomo considered his prospects in contravention of his reality perplexes. We need to move foreword with a humane view of leadership expectations. No more bs…pragmatism rules.
Love this reflection! This win definitely brought me much-needed hope. Fingers crossed the rest of the party gets on board. Very disappointed in Gillibrand, etc.
Thank you for this piece. And yes, feeling a tiny glimmer of hope though I’m also nervous. I came of political age post 9/11 and have seen too much how easily Islamophobia is used by the left and the right to remove rights and prevent progress, and seeing how the Democratic establishment is operating post Mamdani’s win worries me. Our movements have to get way more sophisticated culturally to quickly squash Islamophobia and get back to economic solidarity and then leverage that cultural power to push the party. 🤞🏾
the thing that always gets me about the Democrats is that pretty much every poll is showing how historically despised they are, yet at the slightest whiff of any attempts to try new things to revitalize the party they completely freak out. Like, people, the progressives are trying to rescue your party!! You should be thankful!!

Omg he is a socialist. Didn’t we fight to be free?
I still cannot believe - and yet I also kind of can - that Cuomo ran again.

I think Zohran Mamdani is the Canary in the Coal Mine:

Dems are still in big trouble. I’ll just leave this here. This is their plan to win men?

I really hope Mamdani runs New York. Let’s give a racist socialist a college try. When it all comes crashing down, there will be no one left to blame.
“and they say identity politics are dead!” 😭😂
