I just took my first mini trip to Paris (a few days between London bookends) last month and I did an inordinate amount of walking and it truly was the only way to live. It was a routine of waking up and picking a random point to head toward while just eating and sitting on woven chairs throughout the day at will. Took me a solid 24 hours to realize I was not, in fact, on a very elaborate movie set and instead actually in real Paris.
My 18 year old daughter is obsessed with the ‘ vibe’ of Paris and so has pooped over regularly for weekends with friends since was 16 , we are lucky we live in Ireland so can just pop easily. She will hear no ill word against it even when I sometimes will give a minor complaint about it
Gorgeous. Your newsletter reminded me a lot of Rick Morton (Australian political commentator and author) who has recently moved to Paris and is chronicling his adjustments to life there (and making it all look stunning, because Paris)
The first paragraph sums up Paris/ the French so perfectly! "The duality of Gaul, I suppose."

Hold up, there’s people who don’t think Wait For It is the best song in Hamilton??
Lovely travelogue! My biggest takeaway is I most learn how to wear a scarf.
I appreciate that you linked directly to the Videos tab of the National Gallery's youtube channel. It's the little things!
‘Wait for It’ is INDEED the best song from Hamilton, I get a bit of the chills when he gets to the bridge
J’obsessed with how determined you were to soft launch me in these photos
You assume correctly about other people! I, too, develop anxious regret about any impending travel that will disrupt my delightful daily routine
loved this. it's so hard for me to part with my cereal slop on vacation.
We lived in Paris for six years and while I was glad to leave, I’m just as glad when I can revisit it look at the bad and the ugly.
we were there last spring, and my favorite museum is d’Orsey and the Renoir exhibition was still on. Yes it was a nightmare with people.
Oooh, can’t wait to hear more about The Dramaaaa
