This is a very full circle feeling moment to me because I actually subscribed to you after reading “the thing is I like January” and feeling very distinctly that your writing reminded me of CLB (Pond, specifically). I’ve been meaning to see if you ever spoke about CLB prior to my following you and lo and behold!!! Anyway, I’m obsessed with Petya and now I have no choice but to be obsessed with you as well 🤷♀️
I am charmed that you and I have been apparently watching Drops of God at the same time, since before last week I had never heard of it and I was similarly enthralled by the melodrama and also Issei's cheekbones.
When I was a sophomore philosophy major one of my ethics professors showed us this Martha Nussbaum interview, and with all due respect to my many excellent teachers and mentors, watching it was maybe the single most formative event of my education. Not a wild exaggeration to say it's both the reason I stuck with philosophy through a master's degree and the reason that I decided to leave the field behind for film school. https://youtu.be/tWfK1E4L--c?si=aMHK3PdEGRnOkv2Z
I had a sesame eggplant thing I still dream about at Frenchie’s (the wine bar; not the other fancy restaurant) in Paris—a bit touristy, sure, but my god it was good

Omg Haylee, this is so nice of you??? And sounds like Pond will be my next CLB read, then! x
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it!
Ok but where are you watching these philosophy lectures? Asking for a friend. (It's me. I'm friend.)

You’re the best! I love your film pictures, they have a holga camera quality to them. You’ve inspired me to whip out mine. ♥️

oh the lolling at the Apple TV+ side eye. This is the snark I live for
A delight as always to read. Now a rather dull question but where do you get your film developed?
Thank you Clara!!!
